1. Use of Services

RunThingsNow.com introduces Backgrounder, a macOS application for running AI-powered tasks, and provides downloads and guidance for local use and optional remote access. Local use does not require an account. The relay service may change or become unavailable.

2. User Responsibilities

You agree to use RunThingsNow.com in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

You will not misuse the platform for illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purposes.

You must not attempt to disrupt or compromise the security of RunThingsNow.com.

3. Data Submission and Processing

Registration, login and password recovery take place on the relay's secure sign-in pages. This website does not collect or forward your password. After sign-in, it exchanges a one-time authorization code for website-scoped tokens over HTTPS. These tokens stay in the current tab's memory; temporary sign-in verification data is kept in session storage only for the redirect. The relay stores account email addresses and password hashes, along with device and connection metadata needed for remote access.

Remote task traffic is end-to-end encrypted between connected devices. The relay forwards that traffic without access to its contents. Prompts sent to a cloud AI provider are processed by that provider; choose local models when you want local processing.

You are responsible for the tasks you run, the models and tools you configure, and the devices you approve. Review generated outputs and tool actions before relying on them.

4. Intellectual Property

The Backgrounder application is distributed under its included software license. Third-party models, tools, and content remain subject to their respective licenses and terms.

5. Limitation of Liability

Backgrounder and the relay service are provided on an "as-is" basis without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for legal, financial, or other outcomes resulting from tasks, generated content, or service interruptions, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

6. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of RunThingsNow.com after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
